Elina Belou (b. 1988) is a French ceramist working between Athens and France. She grew up in the south of France before moving to Brussels in 2007 to study midwifery. She later pursued a master’s degree in photography at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Visuels de La Cambre (2013), alongside studies in Photography and Video at Kuvataideakatemia, Helsinki (2012–13). In 2020, she graduated from La Maison de la Céramique de Dieulefit, where she studied ceramics under Anne Verdier, Denise Millet, Denise Penicaud, among others.
She later participated in a residency with the Institut Français in Rhodes, Greece, in 2021, followed by a residency at Fondation Martell in Cognac, France, in 2022. Alongside her ceramic practice, Belou has worked as a photographer while travelling extensively and living in France, Finland, Portugal, Japan, Mexico, and Greece, where she is currently based. Her artistic practice is deeply informed by nature and her travels, drawing inspiration from diverse cultures and traditional techniques.
Recent solo exhibitions have been presented at Arch (Athens, 2023); Auberge de France (Rhodes, 2021); L’Usine (Poët-Laval, 2020); Institut Français d’Athènes (2019); Atelier Concorde (Lisbon, 2016); and De La Charge (Brussels, 2015). She also participated in the Biennale of Contemporary Keramics (Rhodes, 2026) and exhibited at Botanique (Brussels, 2013).
